I was able to save an automatic transmission on my mom's 96 thunderbird with the Lucas transmission fix. It was starting to slip going into overdrive and needed about a half a quart of fluid every 2 weeks. After using that it did not slip and lost less than half a quart every three months. It was still doing fine a little over 4 years later when it got totaled out.
If going to get a Hyundai Elantra what year should I go for? 2011-2016?
Reminds me of my first car, a 68 Rambler Rebel it clanked so much I called it the blue goose. I replaced the lifters and bend rods and put it back together and it still clanked. Then I discovered that they clanked when the car was new. I was proud of myself as I had never worked on a car before. it ran a couple of more months and died. Back then you got a Chilton manual from the library and asked the local auto mechanic a ton of questions. I was a broke kid that never dreamed of having a nice car (lol).
I really enjoy this guy's energy and enthusiasm. Plus,he tells it like it is every time !
I may have to research what the lifter tech is in my 06 Fusion (2.3L 4cyl). It's got almost 200k miles and it's getting noisy.
