    The technology requires a quantum leap. Makes most sense at present only to the most wealthy wanting super car performance, makes least sense for the environment.

    Not to mention that electricity is generated for the most part by still burning fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas and fuel oils. Only a small percentage of electricity is hydro- electric. So all that is happening is redirection of the same energy source. Saving nothing.

    Driving 300 miles, maybe, and spending hours to charge up vs drive 300 miles and spend a few minutes at the pump.

    We can easily go all diesel from bio materials if we run out of petroleum.
