Scotty is red-pilled.
Fix it anyway, I don't need a bunch of decrepit suits in some office telling me what I can and can't do. Do what you please, you don't need some nanny gov. Stop following the idiotic rules…. Duhh
In New England they absolutely won't put an inspection sticker on your car without finding some kind of unessasary repair
All the more reason to select a car that will do the job for someone that is a 1960s or 1970s model. Spend the bigger bucks to get it new-ized enough to be dependable, SAFE, and presentable. Then, drive the damn thing another 20 years.
No1 should buy cars then
I believe another contributor to todays younger generation not wanting to be a Professional Mechanics is the pay. Ive witnessed over the years many shops are hiring young teens with no experience more than ever to complete the maintenance on our vehicles such as oil changes and tire changes / repairs with fewer knowledgeable Mechanics to avoid having to pay them. Unfortunately our vehicles we work so hard for are being damaged due to carelessness and lack of knowledge. I’ve heard many Certified Mechanics state their pay is getting lower and lower. Boy are we going in the wrong direction today. Greed is a serious enemy.
I deliberately bought a year make and model commonly found in Mexico. Repair shop rates run about USD $25 per hour in Mexico. Buy the parts in the USA.
