I am like you with my cars as I am 67, driving for 51 years and have only owned 7 cars in my life. At this time I drive a salvage title 2004 Ford Focus I bought in 2008 for $4600. A Focus SE with 2.3L DOHC engine and 4 speed automatic. 147000 miles on it. The engine has never been opened and the transmission only for the 100,000 mile service. I have changed the full synthetic oil every 5000 miles and I am using no oil between changes. The oil level does not drop at all. The aftermarket paint on the hood is peeling but as long as it runs, I am good with it.

Toyotas are obviously the only unbreakable cars… If all other cars were as unreliable as Scotty makes them out to be, all other car brands would've gone out of business a long time ago, lol.

Because poor people are stupid. I drive a 13 year old car. New money (or just the perpetually poor) are obsessed with impressing strangers they'll never see again at an intersection. The rich save.

P is for Passing gear… jam that thing in P while on the highway for an extra boost!

The wrong oil will cause sludge in the VW 1.8T engines. Use Shell Rotella T6 synthetic diesel oil in it and it will prevent it from occurring, the diesel oil has more suspension additives.

@Scotty Kilmer head desk Oh for F***'S sake Scotty, I have GOT to break you of this HORRENDOUS habit right here and now!

It's called a PARKING BRAKE, NOOOOOT an Emergency Brake!!!

This MASSIVE MONSTER of public disinformation misnomer is EXACTLY why so many people in this country have problems like these because even though they are designed for REGULAR, EVERY DAY usage, but people on this side of the pond are always driving around under the mindset that it is only to be used in emergencies.

I have to tell my clienttell ALL THE TIME; "Use Your Paking Brake!!!" because not only does it save the wear and tear on the parking pall, but almost all manufactures design vehicles with rear drum brakes to use the motion to operate the mechanical slack adjusters inside. Plus, the slack adjusters themselves seize up due to disuse and oft need to be repaired/replaced in order to make them fully functional again.

~ May the horse be with you.
