I always buy a Honda Accord that is around 120k miles that has had the timing belt changed in the last 30k miles, and everything works.
I drive it for around 80k miles, then sell and repeat. I have been very happy with this.

1. best model year 2. best Dependable engine? 2 passengers max not a family car. Just to last like a Toyota Camry but a bit more grip performance to avoid any accident I like to stop before hitting anything & do not wish to ever die in a metal box that folded up around me and burst into flames. I save on cars so I can pay my bills and buy coffee when possible. Age 67 Disabled Vet and counting.

It is insane to say cars made anytime in the past were better made than they are today. Insane. Nobody makes a bad, unreliable car today. Some are better than others, but they are all really reliable if you just do the most basic preventative maintenance.

Scotty, Kia has a recall for the 2012-2016 Soul. Apparently the catalytic converter over heats and can destroy the engine. My son did not pass the emissions test about 2 months ago and Kia denied it was the cc. The other the engine got hot and his valve bent. Is there some code reading that Kia can use to NOT fix the car under the recall?
