I polish my windshields also, you don't even need wipers on when driving at highway speeds as the water blows off!
On my new Tacoma (two months in) cracks from a tiny rock. You have to buy the OEM or they won't calibrate the lane assist, new windshield, another tiny rock… OEM windshield seems like garbage. On my old BMW, I saw a rock half the size of my fist bounce off it, hardly a ding in it.
