    This is because acrylic paints used in new cars are crap.
    I had my bumper on old Volvo repainted by a friendly car painter, with 2 ingredient polyurethane coat. It's like a glass na bearly any chipping.

    How long do you leave the paint out before you buff it? How coarse was the polish you used? I use the menzerna line of polishes so I’m not sure what to compare them to.

    Instead of a thin brush you can use a piece of masking tape rolled into a funnel shape, dip the end in paint, more control no dripping blobs.

    Halfords sell a primer touch up which is great to fill in the chip and you can wet sand it level before touch up
