Been a Diesel mechanic for 20. I do enjoy my job at times. Things are way better then it used to be. We are treated pretty well with the shortage. The main thing that sucks is regardless of how many years you have experience. You will do the dirty work because of the shortage. When I first started in 02. Guys my now age. Did gravy work. That’s long gone. Also most shops got rid of Foreman and they call it a Lead. It’s a bullshit title that’s the same without the supervisor title and benefits. I work for garbage. Work day shift and have the weekends off. Cannot complain to much.
