7:40 – I didn't realize that coasting in neutral was illegal now days. Even more shocking is that it can negatively impact your car's computer system.
I've been driving a stick shift since I was 12 years old, and now I'm 39. Can't even tell you how many times I pop my manual transmission into neutral. It's just so satisfying to get the car to speed and then coast in neutral through town or as I'm pulling up to my house. It's especially fun to see how far I can go without having to put it back into gear.
I've been doing it the whole time I've been driving, so I don't expect to ever stop. It's just good to know about the legality and potential harm it'll do to my engine. At least this way I'll be making an informed decision when I'm coasting.
