I got one easier….. I drive a crown Vic, I bought my girl the same car I drive. If I think a part is bad I’ll swap it with her cars part. Her check engine light is on all the time anyway.

Yeah I got waaaay too familiar with o2 sensors early on. Mom had a Saturn vue, the thing fried 6 o2 sensors in a years time

  3. Mike Hudson

In 36 years only had one check engine light. It was at 145K miles and a new oxygen sensor fixed the code. Now I replace them every 100K miles and the truck does seem to have more pep.

But Scotty… how do I attach that to the wife with her getting upset?

  5. W8 What?

The obd2 is just a symptom collector…the technician is the doctor that reads the symptoms from the obd2 in order to diagnose the problem…most times if it says o2 sensor…it means it’s working properly and recorded an anomaly in the other processes in the engine running…too much air being drawn in or a vacuum leak …there’s tons of things that will make an o2 sensor trip a code….which means it’s working properly

Splice a 10 ohm resistor in the white wire in the 02 sensor wiring harness. Keeps the check engine light from coming on

I've been driving my Toyota 5 years with the check engine light on. The day that light go off, the day I start to worry.
