I guess just stay away from American cars completely

My father always changed the oil in his cars at 3,000 miles. which was recommended in the old days (even before YOU were a mechanic, Scotty!).
Dad had a 1948 Chrysler Windsor sedan with a straight-six flathead engine and "fluid drive." Mom had a 1949 Plymouth Club Coupe. Same engine but three-on-the-tree. They kept these cars in good working order until I graduated high school in 1970. In those days Chrysler cars weren't junk, but they were expensive to repair. So Dad religiously changed the oil… including the oil in the oil-bath air cleaner!

Looking at an 05 (or 06, can’t remember) Acura with 180k miles my friend is selling since he bought a new car. Car is nice inside and out and has been taken care of but the engine makes a weird whining noise. I like the car but don’t wanna get stung. Are there any known issues with this car? Are there any known issues with this model in general? What’s a good starting offer?

Scotty, I have a 2005 Toyota Highlander. It has rough shifts. 145k never had the trans fluid changed, but isn’t burnt, just a darker color. Would changing the fluid help at all? Just need the car to make it one more year. Thanks and love the videos!

The Ford vans run alright, but I work for a valet company that uses them and the interiors don't last at all! We've got several with the rear interior door handles broken off and several of the headrests missing as well. I really wasn't impressed, but they do get heavy daily use so I guess it's not too bad. Any thoughts?

Scotty, why wouldn’t you buy a dual clutch transmission vehicle??

    Hey from the UK btw
