There are better choices than wd40.
First time EVER disagreeing with Scottie. Any locksmith will tell you NEVER USE WD-40 in a lock. Yes, it repels water, but can attract dirt and dust. Then it gets gummy, and you are worse off than before. Go get a bulb of GRAPHITE to spray into a lock. One bulb will last a lifetime. NEVER use anything else in a lock but graphite.
In the lock ok yeah that's… Fine but on the key? Won't it be forcing the lint and stuff into the lock cylinder?

It works wonders on your car paint as well 😂
