Only older can-bus units is vulnerable to reverse polarity. Newer cars are protected from this in numerous ways i'm not gonna list and usually worst case scenario on newer cars is a tilted can-bus which will only cause temporary issues.
I won’t buy a new car it’s nonsense that the car is shut off at red lights and when you take your foot off the break they start up again total nonsense

Hey, Scotty, every time i go to fill up my tank on my car the gas station pump will kick off and i'll have to squeeze the handle again. It does that all the time and its no where near full. Whats the issue? Clogged fuel filter?
