Someone must of paid him off for this myth because trust me cars do need tune ups ! My truck use to take off slow like it was old but then I changed the plugs wires oil and much more and it is so much more faster its unbelievable!

Scotty obviously was not referring to regular maintenance as a tune-up, as modern cars don't need tune-ups but they all have maintenance cycle requirements.
To be clear, there are things that may improve engine performance, but it not a frequent task. Valve clearance adjustments tend to make an engine purr again, idle more smoothly, and be nice and quiet. This is part of maintenance checks though so it's not a tune up then. If injectors aren't clean, obviously the car will have trouble feeding the right amount of air and fuel to the cylinders. This is a mechanical issue though, rather than a tune-up item.
I have a 2012 Acura TL with 40,000 miles and when I accelerate hard it gives me a nasty egg fumes smell… Gives me a headache.. car has no check engine and pass smog?
Modern car tune up is. Cleaning the spark plugs, throttle body Injectors and cleaning or changing fuel filter….

If your STILL driving a 1965 Oldsmobile 98 or a 1963 Ford Galaxy 500,yes,you will be"tuning-up"it up every so often.
And she broke my heart she got the best of me you right about that naw it ain't everything so watered down all these fake mechanics out here now

I just purchase 1999 Toyota Camry le 4 cylinder 185k miles hope it last. I know rav are good but Camry idk.
