Everyone should learn at least some basic car repair skills. The easy way to buy a cheap car, or a car that you couldn’t otherwise afford.
If you have the space, and working arms, there isn’t much excuse in this day and age to not do basic car maintenance.

Great video man. I am buying my 1999 bmw 328i and will be doing alot of maintenance myself and was a little apprehensive because I just really was not sure what I was going to need etc. This helped alot.
alldatadiy . com is an amazing source. You pay a subscription and you get the same data and technical repair diagrams that your auto shop has access too. I love it and use it routinely for car repairs that are SPECIFIC to my exact vehicle, rather than just getting a generic year range repair that may or may not be identical to what I'm looking at underneath my car.
There are always going to be things that you can't do. Like your own alignment. Most people (me included) will not do a transmission repair, or an engine rebuild. But as you work on your car and do jobs on it you will gain understanding that will make things faster in the future.
Good video. Thx
Great video!
You can also get these kinds of tools at Pawn Shops. 🙂
Great video. Really well done.
I do all my own car maintenance and agree with all your excellent advice. The most important factor is just keeping up with your car maintenance schedule. I use a vehicle maintenance program on my computer http://www.lonewolf-software.com/automotivewolf.htm that reminds me to change the oil and all the other stuff that needs to be checked and replaced occasionally. You can configure it for any car and it keeps a maintenance log for you. Doing all my own car maintenance has saved me A LOT of money 🙂
Which car is the easiest to learn on ? What year and model ?
Alan wrench set I went to change my engine air filter and had to remove a clip that was alaned in there ?
