    Also I take off both my battery cables and clean the battery posts and clamps and reinstall them and then spray them with battery protector

    Well, the engine is idling faster when it's cold to improve emissions as it will run with a leaner mixture. it's not to warm up the engine faster! Scotty if pretty good, but at times he is dead wrong. But if you know what you are doing you can clean the throttle plate and spindle. Just be sure you know what you are doing, and Scotty isn't your source to know what you are doing!

    The only cars that use the throttle plate for fast idle is the carbureted models. Fuel injected cars use a idle control motor that is seperate from the throttle plate.
