In this video I show one of MANY ways a person could remove a rounded off wheel nut. -Enjoy!

On steel wheels or alloys with enough room I will cut a notch in the lug nut and give a quick rap with the air hammer. If they don't spin they will at least split in half 👍

WTH? DId they use SAE sockets on the metric lugs? Just went through a 1.5 hour tire change at Costco today only to have the stick on weights hit the calipers as I drove out. Back for another 15 minutes to switch to hammer on weights on the RF wheel. Wonder what is going to happen when I rotate the tires?????

And this was a SMA commercial that runs between the real videos – I told you a while ago, Eric, that you are now making short commercials between your work videos !!!!!!! But interesting enough that I don't want to get up and go to get another cup of coffee for fear I'll miss some tidbit of info !!!!! Yep, you better have very strong hard tempered kryptonite drill bits !!!!!! After drilling 20 studs I'd call it more than a days work !!!!!!!

Pro-tip on any car with those chrome-capped lug nuts: Throw 'em in the trash! I did when I bought my new car. Pissed the techs off when it goes in for warrantee required service since it had non-standard real lug nuts on it, but at least those stupid sleeves wont come off. They are an SOB to remove later.

Ion Redline wheels are hard to come by, thanks for saving us a few!

I would love to see how you do a BMW X5 with the bolt style lugs. I am sure it is the same way, but when I had them over tightened by a tire shop it was a nightmare to get them off.

Best method? get up to 30mph and slam into a curb. It will remove that wheel real quick!

This only slightly worse than swollen nuts. You know.

i just take the hub off and change the…. wheel, tire, rotor, brakes, calipers at that point.

For the record the customer bought the car this way. It was recently at the Walmart for service before he bought it…
