In this video I filmed from start to finish as I repaired the door sill on my 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg. This is by no means the “right way” to do the job. The only way to completely remove rust is to cut it out and weld in a replacement piece of steel. This video is for those of you who are sick of looking at a rust spot on your car and don’t want to spend the money at a professional auto body repair shop. In this video I explain the step by step DIY process of how to repair rust and paint your car, motorcycle, tractor, etc.

Two years on, how is your work holding up?
I got paint nicks that are rusted, no bigger than hole of a pen.. is there something less intense for my tiny areas? I’d rather stop them before they get bigger or deeper.
Nice job, but the way you apply the paint makes me cringe.
Or use por 15 and permanent fix the rust
Moist
Volkswagen has 11 years warranty for rusting. If your car younger than 11 years old take it to the service. It’s free
Nice DIY, however those dark spots, you still have the potential for rust to come right back. I would recommend a sealer or ethcing primer before your filler primer. Good job tho!
you did all that for a lil rust I just sand it wipe it clean put same color rustrolem spray paint
Careful of overspray. Even with raddlecan. Always exaggerate masking. Other then that. Not bad at all.
Rust is still there, it will bubble the paint, spot putty is used for totaly diferent thing, wet sanding when you hear sand in between.
But for driveway paintjob its good.
