The rust was falling apart. But once I repaired the rust, the rust looked as good as new.

Thank you for sharing your talents. The sarcasm and wry humor are first rate. Question: when you weld 1/2 inch at a time as you stated, do you do a 1/2 inch stitch weld or a series of overlapping spot welds?
