If you’ve been paying attention you’ve probably noticed that the wheels on the S14 look a bit like garbage! And let’s be honest who doesn’t like a brand new set of wheels. However, I actually like the wheels on the S14 and would like to use them for a bit longer while I save for something new in the future. That said, today we are fixing those scuffed wheels and hopefully I don’t potato them in the process.

Money Pit is where you get to learn about cars as we work on them. Each ep we’ll breakdown how each component works and then we’ll upgrade it. Join us in our journey to build cool cars, learn about them, and drive the crap out of them!

Just $64. Plus a selection of files, sandpaper, brake cleaner, acetone, tack cloth, a pressure washer, tire mounting and unmounting, and a day.

Best tip for thoroughly mixing a spray rattle can. Use an old sawsall blade and a large hose clamp to clamp the blade to the side of the rattle can. Use a blade that is longer than the rattle can. Use a sawsall with a quick blade connector. Put the blade in the sawsall with the can solidly secured to the blade. Use a badly worn blade so the blade's teeth do not affect the can side. Slowly and carefully pull the variable speed trigger on the sawsall. I use a cordless Milwaukee so the blade can move very slow if the trigger is barely pulled. The sawsall will shake that can like nobody's business. If you use a 12 inch long blade, you will also get some side to side movement. Saves your arm and your can will be perfectly shaken. When you spray, leave the blade on the can for easy re-shaking every 2 minutes. Just position the blade so it does not interfere with your painting. When you want to re-shake just slide the blade into the quick coupler and get after it. You is welcome.

Now do a 5 minutes DIY only house hold items version.
And make sure it ends up looking the same or better.

Hi Zach, for the filing and sanding part, you can jack up the car and reattach the wheel back to the car, start it up and engage a gear to let it rotate like an automatic rotary tool. Then you just hold still ur files or sanding pad and let the rotating wheel run by itself until u r satisfy with it. It might save a lot of time for all 4 wheels..
