If you’ve been paying attention you’ve probably noticed that the wheels on the S14 look a bit like garbage! And let’s be honest who doesn’t like a brand new set of wheels. However, I actually like the wheels on the S14 and would like to use them for a bit longer while I save for something new in the future. That said, today we are fixing those scuffed wheels and hopefully I don’t potato them in the process.

Money Pit is where you get to learn about cars as we work on them. Each ep we’ll breakdown how each component works and then we’ll upgrade it. Join us in our journey to build cool cars, learn about them, and drive the crap out of them!

Would it have been easier to just media blast the wheel, instead of all that crazy cleaning? Then correct the blemishes and paint? seems like a lot of time was invested in just cleaning the wheel.

Watching this channel makes me wish I had a garage where I could work on my car. Quality content!

Looks nice for a can job, now what about durability, how many times can it go through a car wash without fading or peeling? Next how much for dismount, mount & balance? I'm also pretty sure that a professional job would have taken care of the dent.
Your work put into it was a lot which makes me believe it is best for those from the ages of 18 – 25 and most of them wouldn't have an engine hoist to hang the wheel and would probably be spraying in their driveway and might get more dust problems with it being outside. All in all pretty good if it were a set of cheap wheel but if mom & dad spent $50k or more on your bmw your factory wheels might be too good for that kind of job.

I personally care a lot about my car and if I can't do a professional job I give it to someone who can.

I've been repainting rims on the side and I've made some good money on it, but doing it right like the vid you can sell some and make good money off of it

I wonder instead of scotch pad you can use a drill with the proper head brush/tool, and a dremel instead of file or sand paper l. But needs to be doone right, run in one direction only and keep it moving and do not push ? May be maybe not but would save elbow grease, and a lot of time if you’re going all 4 wheels.

I think I'd reverse the steps… File, sand and grind first, then clean it all up and degrease afterwords.

    Should have powdered coated them

That’s what they all say. They came like that.

There's no way all the work is worth it if you're still paying $75+ in supplies unless you're doing all 4 (or more) at once. Might get a nice feeling of accomplishment, but for a few bucks more, a pro shop can do it for you.

Hey guys, it's Zach – I want to point out that I DEFINITELY should have been wearing a proper respirator while painting. ESPECIALLY because I was using activated paint, which makes it much worse for you. I wasn't thinking, and should have been. I'm setting an example for a lot of you guys and I promise to do better on the personal protective equipment. Love you all!!
