In this episode, we finish up the carbon fiber panels with a trip through the post cure oven. This increases the strength (tensile 20% and flexural 30%) of the ProSet 114-INF infusion epoxy used for all the parts. Then we get on with revealing the pain of what all this insanity cost.

It ALL makes sense when you get the result you’ve achieved. I’m thinking about the same for an old British roadster in my garage.

I needed that. I’m young. I have a 1977 celica build and no one has any carbon fiber parts. Only fiberglass fenders. I appreciate you very very very much. I’ve seen a few videos but ur videos give me more hope and courage for making my own carbon fiber parts. Keep it up man
Sir, you are now on my teaching Things playlist. Thank you for your Content. Keep going and stay healty.
Greetings from Germany
This was awesome.. Yea not for everyone, but a few nuts .. (Including me).. I'm researching to make my Motion Sim Rig frame out of carbon fiber for more responsiveness. Power to weight.. Yeah going to do it soon.. thanks for posting my CA friend! DMAX motion simulator Channel..
You said it's not economical, but I respectfully disagree! In plain financial terms, sure, it's not going to make you rich without selling copies, but depending on the make and model, a good CF hood with the actual supporting structure can easily retail for $1000+ USD. Throw in the fenders, doors, trunk etc. and I really don't think you did too bad at $8500, especially considering you didn't even have a retail option to begin with.
Of course, that's at $0/hour for labor as you said, BUT you also learned the whole process yourself, which has its own value (I always prefer to learn how to do something than to pay someone else). How many people have a carbon fiber Amazon? Not many, I'm sure. And how many of those were built in a garage? You don't get that buying parts retail. Here's to hoping your clear, thorough, and concise videos generate the requisite number of views and likes to put some cash in your pocket!
I have learnt so much thank you
great
Good
If you build a custom hood for someone, how much would you charge?
👍👏👏👌
