▶ How to inspect for rack end bushing
The tie rods didn’t fix the clunking sound in my steering. Although the tie rods did need to be replaced, it didn’t fix the clunking sound in my steering. I asked my girlfriend for some help and started to try and locate the sound. Since the tie rods are new, that’s one thing to check off the list, but after some diagnosis, it’s probably the rack end bushing. This is a disappointment because now I’ll need to pull everything off again to replace that bushing.

Easier to replace the steering rack itself… keep the old one and rebuild it.
