Hey, please never Rate Oil form the Specs Like 0-w50 or the Big Numbers Always written Big on every Oil Bottle. Look for the litte writing on the Back. The 5W-Something only gives Info about the Heat Range the Oil is operating in perfekt Condition. The thing much more Important for you Engine are the Additives. There are serveral mixes vor serveral Cars, But Groups like the VW Group or Mercedes always point them out like hat: MB 229.31, MB 229.51, VW 504 00, VW 507 00Porsche C30,
Somewhere in your Papers there should be a Page what Number you got to have AT LEAST. i know you havent got it but you'll find someone telling you that easly .
For your Engine this is much more Important than some 0W-50 no Certification shit. See it as extra Type of fluid it needs. As a Pro Athlete, without proper ingredients it won't be doing it for long.
By the way, learned this in the First year of becoming a Mechanic in Germany…at least they managed to teach something good =)
So please People, the 0W:40 just mentions how good your Goose Oil i fliuid in ways of Heat, the Type Rating shows how good it is for your Car. Diesels need by the way more Coal Changing Additives, don't need that for a Petrol one do you?
