I just replaced the front VVT valve as it was leaking oil on my wife's 2011 Pilot at 145k. About 30k ago the rear one went and had to have her car towed to shop. After watching this I may buy one of those deactivation switches you talked about.

We just bought a 2019 MDX, very expensive is right. I guess we should of did more research.
My son has an 04 with 385,000 miles and had to replace transmission around 250,000 miles. I have an 04 Honda Element with 218,000 miles other than VTEC replacement no issues and it has a chain, no rubber.
