My comment today is I enjoy watching someone do brakes like I do 👍 on the lube on the bracket under the hardware

Like your work and attitude wish you was closer. Not moving anytime soon. Too much salt and crust.

Last weekend I was restoring a boat that had been in storage for 13 years. After cleaning up the fuel system and giving a check of the engine, it was time to see if it would start. No luck. After determining that there was compression, and there was fresh fuel in the carb, the ignition was looked at. Diagnose no spark. After me and some other people who were helping were staring at the engine for 5 minutes deciding what to do next, one of the people who was not a mechanic but was just hanging around with us says "hey, this may sound ridiculous but that switch under the throttle that says off and run. Shouldn't it be in the run position?" Well that was it, forgot to turn on the kill switch. Put the plug back in the engine and tried again. Fired right up with out hesitation. Go figure…

My screws just snapped off using just a ratchet wrench. What are they for anyway?

Many years ago a friend brought his camper van to me to have a new alternator fitted, it was a quick job only took about 30 mins, him and his partner stayed with me while I did it as I told him it wouldn't take long. Anyway after fitting it and firing the engine up the alternator had no output, I spent maybe 2 hours trying to find out why and in the end put it down to a faulty reconditioned alternator, he phoned up the RAC breakdown service as they carried parts for common vehicles and the guy lifted the bonnet and looked at me and smirked because I hadn't tensioned the belt so the alternator wasn't even spinning. I have never felt so embarrassed in all my life.

Boy I’ve done stupid things .

Reinstalling the brakes as designed (with all corresponding parts and pieces) is the only way you should do the job. If that guy had a wreck that involved failed brakes after you did the job, guess who the lawyers (blood sucking money grubbers) would hold accountable.

This made me laugh. Well I was frustrated rust got me teasy on old UK car years ago rotor was seized not from forgetting the screw on drivers side finally got it off and back together to do other side. Undoing caliper carrier 19mm and I was kicking the bar why the hell won't this bolt undo my dad noticed me loosing it says your tightening it up 😂 that's where frustration gets us walk away calm down then continue or you get even more worked up on the next hiccup took me many years to work that out anger cost money…. It cost me a complete car when I was 19 the sledgehammer came in contact with every panel 🤦. Fortunately with age and exsperience we learn and mellow….
