A disturbing recent law concerning DIY automotive repair was uncovered and has been going around online. This law concerns Sacramento, but I’m sure there are other places with similar regulations as well and more will spread.

this is about forcing you to spend money for so called licensed professionals that do half assed work.no matter what it is home repair auto .ect.it is state wide and local.i cant pressure wash my own house however i can hire a licensed contractor .it is about revenue .nothing more

there are already laws against hording and dumping chemicals. why would they need a specific law against a specific activity. is it illegal to build your own fence or deck… if not how much longer will it be until it is. i don't understand why the people of California haven't killed those politicians yet. California sucks. nice weather just aint worth it when all your aloud to do is sell drugs and sun tan.
Americans need to stop laying on their big fat butts and get as riled up about their local politician as they do a Presidential election.Most people have it backwards your local politician is the one that is more likely to screw you than anyone in the white house will.You elect these guys and have no knowledge of the things they are capable of doing you dont attend any meetings to see what laws or what personal agenda they are implementing until it hits you one day and you find yourselves having to deal with some law that infringes on you but benefits someone else.People you have to stay involve and when these slimy local politicians imposed on your life get rid of them.Ida by recall, investigating them i am sure a money trail will pop up somewhere.But people you cant just sit home and complain this is still America and something can be done about them you just have to be willing to fight.

I had a neighbor who thought he could paint his car in his garage. He gassed the entire neighborhood.
This was to provide some way of stopping garage shops. You can still do what you need to. Just don't be an ass about it.
Well ya they need that money. Go get ASE certified anyone can do it. They have already gone after the farmers and truckers shit heads. Anyways most of us have the hoa police anyways wonder if they have lobbyists friends?♂️
Last week at my friends for a barbeque. The neighbor was painting a complete car in his garage and had a fan set up in the doorway blowing a plume of orange overspray across the back alley straight at us. My buddy says he does it a few times a year. No exhaust filters or anything a shop would need. Just saying some people abuse their freedom to where it does affect others in real tangible ways. There are better ways to deal with situations like this than blanket laws.The real kicker for me is that they allow people to work on their own brakes which if done wrong can fail and kill someone. I can't recall the number of times I've worked on vehicles with rotors way thinner than minimum spec, calipers pissing fluid right after a pad replacement, brake hoses split down to the inner cord. Drum brakes with over size drums, primary and secondary shoes mixed up, auto adjusters in backwards, etc. etc. etc.
Sounds like it’s mostly to keep people from running a repair shop out of their house in middle of residential area. I’ve known people running junk yards out of the middle of city neighborhood.
Myself I don’t even have a house or garage or even my own driveway anymore. I have to work on my stuff wherever I can.
California is a shit hole and a wall should be built around it. The law is intentionally vague so that they can fine anyone for anything. You then have to either pay the fine or get lawyers and spend the next 2-5 years of your life fighting the county, good luck with that. I still do not understand why people like you are still living in Commiefornia. You are fighting with the far left environmental Nazis which have taken over Commiefornia, you will loose, that state is lost and from what I can tell will never be retaken.
