For that Pontiac first thing needs to be the ect. If the ect is messed up ir disconnected it will disable the ac and run the fans constantly. Also with no change in ect after the car warms up it can throw the code for the thermostat. Yes the t stats fail constantly but it may just be an unplugged ect. (Or broken wire to it)
