    My advice on checking the oil level would be to follow the instructions in the manual– the manual for my 2009 Scion tC says to check the oil when the engine is at operating temperature. My understanding is that some manufacturers calibrate the dipstick to read the oil level at operating temperature, not when it's cold.

    Electric cars just switch the pollution from the tail pipe to the power plants…and the efficiency of electricity is half what gasoline is…which means that there is twice the energy used and twice the pollution…
