A little different than my normal car videos BUT this is car related and I think its a cool project for someone with a low car to do to fix the scrape when you pull up onto ramps!

hello everyone,if you do not have wood around, but maybe a pair of old brake rotors, you can chuck the front of the front wheels with the rotors, then drive on top of the hats of the old rotors, in most cases giving you an extra inch or two of clearance. great video as the wood set up will be a more permanant fix. 🙂 i love your 240 and the videos. i hope this helps someone who may not have wood laying around.

I have those same exact ramps. I simply use two….2 x 4 pieces that are 24" long each. I lay each 2 x 4 about 5-6 inches up the ramp, centered with my tire, and then drive my car onto the 2 x 4 pieces and then right up onto the ramp. I may drill holes in the ends of the 2 x 4 pieces at the ends that lay on the ramp….then drill holes through the ramps…..then drop a steel bolt down into the hole so the wood pieces cannot slide anywhere as I drive up onto them and then onto the ramp.

Actually before all that! Just place a 10 foot 2×6 behind your front wheels. It will give you enough lift

    WAY TOO much effort involved

That's cool, but a whole lotta work when a flat board will do the job.

I took 2 pieces of 2×12's. cut a 45 degree angle at both ends and placed them between the wheels and the ramp. It gave it enough clearance and took me about 5 minutes to make. I've used them for about 20 years.

don't ever use plastic ramps, just google the pictures of accidents with those ramps, the car's weight can break those ramps due to old age and sun damage. if you're under you DIE. be smart, make ramps by stacking a couple boards of 2×12, maybe screw them together and jack your car up and slide the wood ramps under the wheels. wood has great strength, they use it for cribbing for large and I mean humongous machinery. seriously look up the accidents with broken plastic ramps, do yourself a huge favor. also do not use concrete blocks, it can break too, be safe. also use jack stands in addition to stacked wood under the wheels and maybe even put your tires under the car and a jack on the front or rear center jack points for additional failure points
