Wondering how Darren performs car paint chip repair? Despite the many videos or pictures you have seen from paint chip repair kits or companies, car paint chip repair and scratch removal is not as simple or easy as many would have you think.
At least half the battle is understanding the limitations of touch-up paint for cars and being able to manage your customer expectations.
This video was cut from a longer video due to the many questions Darren gets about his car paint touch-up kit. In this case it is Applied Colors. And “no”, Darren does not have a firm opinion as to the best car paint touch-up kit out there. Not if you are going to be doing this as an add on service for your detail business.

Darren, Darren, Darren…… I usually find your videos informative/helpful but WOW av I let yourself down on this one….. I know your mantra is "Don't over think the moment" but I don't think u thought about this moment at all. I appreciate u just want to get in, get out, get paid, do the best job possible, but u haven't done yourself or your customer any justice here.
It looks way worse than before being tampered with. Change your line of work, please.

Typically he has good videos but this one was horrible. Open the glovebox and get the actual paint code for a perfect match. In this case he is only focused on saving the dealership time and money. Needed in this video is more sanding, a better paint match, a mix of paint and clear, more technical skill with a polishing wheel, more compounding and polishing etc…
Dr. Colorchip would have given better results. Always works well for me.
J'sus Christ this guy goes on. I almost wanted to gouge my eyeballs out with a rusty spoon and dip my testicles into hot tar rather than endure this until the end. Even worse, the end result is a f*cking joke. Honestly, my 5 year old could have done better with his silver crayon.
