Drain plug gasket, it’s a small flat ring and some people call it washer (it is not)! Should be habitually replaced. This way you will not require over torquing your drain plug and it will just cost pennies, but will save on losing engine oil and subsequent seizure. Otherwise thook lagake—— haisha. Don’t regret no one informed you,
Gaining knowledge about basic service is important, doesn’t mean you start doing it, like oil change. Local mechanics keep a barrel where they store dirty oil and dispose/sell for recycling when it is full. Used lube oil is a contaminant and will contaminate drains, ground soil if not disposed properly. Better pay a small amount to the mechanic and be content that your drained oil will be recycled. Air filter cleaning can be done every month without waiting for oil change and clean your AC or cabin filter at the same time by yourself.
