Hey Scotty, have you heard about there being government regulation to have all new cars have some sort of wireless communication, possibly utilized to communicate with other vehicles and thus creating a newtwork. I was told this by an IT guy who works in networking. Don't really what the main purpose would be, possibly big brother keeping tabs on us??
About the GM product not starting on first try… When you first try and start it..turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump. Once you hear the fuel pump stop running, then start your engine. My 2003 Suburban has worked this way for years. Fuel pump getting old.

It's the in tank fuel pump/filter on the GM pickup. If someone replaced it with an aftermarket pump, make sure to replace it with an ac delco from the dealer. They changed the fuel pumps on those and the newer ones don't have that problem. It's a common problem on those trucks. The fuel rail pressure bleeds down while they sit. Also, you don't have to drop the tank to change the filter. If you have a few friends to help you, it's way easier to remove the truck bed. It's still a pita admittedly.
