All DI engines will suffer from carbon buildup, unless the PCV system is pristine. VW's, sucks for sure. Ford/Mazda, not that much better. Install an aftermarket catch can and understand why it's an issue to begin with. Not quality of fuel will change this fact, because the fuel doesn't hit the back of the valve.
I learned the lesson of buying a brand new car many years ago. If it doesn't have a prior owner I won't buy it period. It's crazy to buy a new one when you are basically flushing a ton of cash down to toilet the second you drive it off the lot.

My '85' VW Jetta Diesel, I bought brand new still runs and drives like brand new. Yes, I've taken good care of it. 236,000 miles and I just replaced 4 struts, 4 tires, all brakes, bearings, booster and master cylinder. My cars not going to brake. Next are glow plugs and I'm going to go ahead and replace the disc pads. City driving!

My dad has a 2021 Honda FK8 1.0 FR and it's very reliable doesn't mean because someone has been unlucky doesn't mean their not as good as Japanese versions!
Bought 07 Corolla made in Japan because of Scotty, after ironing out couple bugs (new intake manifold gasket and fuel injector) it’s perfect little car, ice cold ac, good gas mileage. Comfortable seats, spacious backseats, large trunk. Still have “kill switch” from dealer need to remove
