Its sad to say that most lug wrenches that came with cars for the last 30 years , don't work very well if your lug nuts are torqued more than 80 lbs .
So besides carrying a fullsize spare , its always good to have another longer lug wrench that can actually remove the lugs , and an Air Compressor with a complete tire plug kit .
And AAA is worth it so if you dont want to change it , you can have them do it .
Notice all of Scotty's cars are made by Toyota…
My 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a FULL-SIZE spare.
my father taught me how to drive and how to change a flat tire when I was 13 . 2 years later when I took driver's education in high school there were two full classes devoted to what to do if you have a flat tire including instruction on how to change it safely. that was in 1972. most schools don't involve themselves with drivers ed anymore. sadly most parents don't either.
My moms 2019 Ram has a full size spare… it's a steelie 18" but that still doesn't work quite right when the truck normally runs on 20s * eyeroll *
A spare is no good without air in it. I have a spare but I also carry an air pump next to it that plugs into what used to be a cigarette lighter. I have one in the dash and another in the hatch area. If you get a slow leak you can pump the the leaker and get it fixed at a tire shop. Just don’t pull out a nail if you find one in a tire.
That is bad, but my 2005 Toyota Corolla doesn't have flashers. No emergency flashing lights!? ? WTF!
Also look for undercoating if you plan to keep the car for many years and live in the northern snow-belt areas.
Why need spare tire, when peoples doesn't know how to jack up the car and taking off the lug nuts…no offense to womans
My 2002 Lexus ES300 like his wife’s has a FULL tire spare ! Best ES ever made !
