Great tips on wiring I used some of the same setup on mine
Sometimes you want to stagger the splices so you don't have a thick wad of connectors in a tight spot.
Great video Pete
nice work Pete ! I hope those aftermarket connectors come apart easier than some of these newfangled connector I find in newer some
cars tho-
Hey Pete, those connectors look like universal mate-n-lok. They are common in industrial situations. I crimp the pins onto wire that go into the connector shells, then put them into the shell. There is a "pin popper" that lets you remove the pins from the shell if need be. Also you can put pins or sockets into the shells so you can make it so that even if the connectors are all the same, they will only plug in to one they are supposed to. Something that looks nice is to use lacing tape or lacing twine to tie the wire bundles together, but tie wraps are faster. I really like the looks of laced cables and they don't snag or tear your hands up like cable tied cables.
That'll make it better.
I use "Molex connectors", usually 4 pin used for computer power supply's. You can get male and female housing for 0.15$ea, and crimp pins for 0.05$ea . There are also 3 pack kits for 2$ on amazon and such.
yeah, nothing is ever permanent, so why hard wire it like it is. Good vid Pete, it reminds us all to do it right the first time and save time later!
Great tip Pete!
Plug and play is the only way.
