Cars of the fifties, sixties, and seventies, and eighties were easy to repair, but you had to repair them a lot. You rarely got a hundred thousand miles out of one of them.

Todays' cars are no longer easy to repair, but they typically last a hundred thousand miles before any major repairs are necessary. The people who buy the used car with a hundred thousand miles on it, usually gets stuck with the major failures.
