    I use 2 pairs of vice grips on the shiney part of the hood plungers to keep the hood up .
    Its easier to work on and less likey to dent under your hood than a wooden prop stick.

    Thank the EPA for those beauty covers. The one on my wife's car is insulated. To meet the EPA mileage and clean air regs, keeping the engine warm between stops helps keep the mileage up and the emissions down. I live in AZ and pull those off and store them. In summer, I raise the hood to cool off the engine bay. Saves the hoses, belts and wires. I think you missed the problem most mechanics miss: Too much dust on the speedo display. Quite a common problem.
