The issue with the solar charger is there are many cars that don't keep the lighter plug live when the car is shut off, so they also won't charge with the key off.

I used to work for a fishing and hunting organization who leased Grand Cherokees to tow boats and trailers. We hired summer students during the peak season so I would activate the back up sensors and then tell them to hook up a boat for trailering., Of course the vehicle would slam on the brakes as soon as they got too close. This and other nonsense features were always a fun way to initiate the newbies.
A few years back I made the decision to never again buy a vinyl hose..They don't last. Spend the extra few bucks and buy a good rubber hose , like dramm ..I now own three of them ,I like them so much !
All of you guys need to leave those toys cars and buy the real vehicles, Toyota and you will never have to worry about crappy vehicles anymore.
I REALLY wanted to see Scotty mad as hell.
