hey scotty i just bought a 2016 rav4 and when i’m on the highway going about 80 mph the tachometer will stay at around 4000 RPM for about 45 secs or more before it shifts, is this normal?

Hi Scotty. Don't forget about the base oils made from Natural Gas; allegedly they are much more impurity-free than well-supplied oils.
What is the purpose of engine oil? Scotty is right.
I remember in Aircraft Mechanics School in 1980 that was a test question I still remember the answer Clean, Cool and Lubricate.
I had an old car once I checked the gas and filled it up with oil.
