Notice how many of the scams you cited are at the dealer?
As far as I know leaking shocks/struts don't mean anything unless the car bounces excessively. That's the only reason to replace them.

Just last week my gf had her 2015 Dodge journey Catalytic converter replaced which was under warranty but they still tried to charge her $545 just to clean the spark plugs because they had a little bit of carbon build up ?, dealers will try they're best to charge you for anything to not do a free warranty repair
