I used a 1:5 ratio vinegar/water soak in a 50 gallon plastic drum to remove rust from all parts that would fit into the barrel. Way easier than sandblasting and no effort required. 5 to 7 days remove parts and lite scotch brite rust just falls off
Warping in metal during a media blasting event is not caused by heat, it is caused by peening of the media. It doesn't matter if it's dry or wet blasting.
