why not fill the chips with paint saves spraying all that make em a lil deeper/ruffed up dab fill with say a cocktail stick till just proud carefully flat off with very fine wet on dry and then buff back to shine with a color restorer ?
Could do without the hip-hop background music.
This is alil much for the small amount of damage..this video is just not good. Bad advice.
now pay $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ body shop for hood paint job !!!!!!!!!!!!!
seriously over the top…. don't try this at home kids…..
Where is the finished result? wasn't it good enough to show?
It should have been called "PREPARING STONE CHIPS & DEEP SCRATCHES FOR FINISH COAT".
terrible video at so many levels. Using wrong sand paper, making repair area unnecessarily large, bad music, not using higher grit sand paper to ensure smooth surface, not showing how to apply the basic paint or the clear coat. not showing the finished product. Why bother making this video first place?
Now that is exactly how you DON'T repair stone chips and scratches. It was not only bad advice, but as other mentioned didn't even show end result, the title is actually wrong as well – it should be called something along the lines of "smart repair", because the next steps are obviously to paint it and most importantly blend it in with the rest of the hood. I have never heard of body shop using a screwdriver to clean the scratches from rust…
The question I have – if you go this length to repair one side of the hood (assuming another one will have the same amount of stone chips) why not just bloody paint the entire hood properly.
Worst video i ever seen!!!!
Well over the top when the same amount of time could have been spent treating each chip with smaller amounts of paint, instead of this glaring patch on such a prominent panel. Cant believe this is a commercial video.
