You can also use it to check the temp on your upper and lower radiator hoses. If the temperature is way off then there’s an issue
Btw, Sticking brakes problem is a bad caliper, for the uninitiated.
4 bolts and a brake line. easy fix
To diagnose a dead miss, find the cooler header pipe or right out of the exhaust manifold.
Also great for taking the temperature of exhaust headers, if one is colder there's a problem there
