    what kind of pad did you use to polish the windshield? is it wool?

    how about using compound its abrasive you would have to be careful not to stay on too long

    if you want a permanent fix you need polish with cerium oxide

    no way! you only polished it put a gleam on it. to actually remove the scratch you must cut the damage area down, then when it's cut down properly you polish to clear. a professional needs to do this- glass is unforgiving if you cut too much or improperly you will damage it further or risk creating distortion.
