Unfortunately DIYAUTOTUNE.com doesn’t sell the TPI adapter board any more but I think you can piece one together from this list of parts and instructions.

In both cars that I've had with a code 36, replacing the MAF sensor cured it. It points to the burnoff circuit on the MAF sensor. On my 86, I messed with the wiring, the MAF relays and checked the TPS etc, but it had a problem with lack of power and stumbling. I finally gave in and replaced the MAF and it ran great. I bought a MAF off a private seller to use as a backup in case the one in my 87 went out. I put it on the car and I had lots of trouble starting the car and it had lack of power. I put my known good working one back on and the car ran fine. Your problem was unique because that should have tripped a code 33 or code 34, not the code 36. Glad you fixed it though.
My 86 looks likes it needs the same little piece of hose and is pulling a code 36. How the heck did you get at the clamps to replace that little hose?
Thank you!
Thanks man, great reminder that the computer is not always right. We tend to ignore that idea.
That problem you had there with that little piece of hose if not seated properly and cracked like yours was will also kill your power big time. Do not use heater hose as a sub for the real thing it will get hot and soft and create another vacuum leak that way as well. Use high heat vacuum or power break booster line 15/32” works perfect that way you won’t need the hose clamps. GM didn’t use them!
Thanks for the cool video! You have the patience of a saint! I'm having same issue with my tpi camaro. I'm to the point of swapping out to an ls. In the meantime I'll Check those items you mentioned.
My Trans Am is running rich Super Rich to the point where it just smokes and does not clean up unless it's wide open. I put a different mass air flow on it it seems to run better but this all started because I had an anti-freeze leak I sprayed the antifreeze off with the hose as it was running it seem to run worse when I sprayed it under the intake manifold or under the plenum I should say I'm going to take your advice and see if I don't have a cracked pose under there. Thank you something is making it run super rich and I cannot figure it out.
Thanks !!!
