Nice video to the point Thanks
very helpfull video really is.. thanks for upload man.. you are a star…..
i got a question bro… do you know where is the alternator wire in bmw 320d 3 series? that is coming to battery? is it also passing through trunk by any chance?
actually i am installing secondry battery and a split charging replay switch. i am looking for a 12v ignition wire. which only powers when we twist the key twice.
by any chance is that wire somewhere in trunk too?
please help.
many thanks.
Unfortunately, for me, you didn't spend enough time talking about the switch part. I want to hook up switchable device that simply make power available when ignition is on and shuts down when ignition is off. I still don't understand how to hook it up to ignition as NOBODY explains that in this vids. Thanks anyway.
I did it for my car to make LED strips come on. I just shoved a thin wire (+) into the hole with the right pin (the one that makes contact when the power is on) and the – part to my battery. When the power is on (turn of the key), the magnet pulls the pin and makes the connection so the lights come on.
Stuffyou100 – you would need to power the relay switch from an ignition live, only powered when the engine is running. You could tap directly into the ignition wire, or find a light or other piece of equipment that only/automatically comes on with the engine.
This will take some familiarity with a wiring diagram or multimeter. If you don't know how to find one, you probably shouldn't try this until a friend has shown you how.
I used one of these to power motorbike heated grips.
Great vid, simple straightforward instructions thanks 🙂
Thank you for making this video available on Youtube!
well illustrated and still simple… Thank You.
Cheers mate simple and to the point
Would like to know, can pin 85 and pin 86 be reversed. Alot of relays are showing 85=Ground and 86= switch. the diagram on the rl44 relay is 85=Ground, 86=Switch, 30=Power, 87=Accessories Ect…… so can pin 85 & 86 be reversed. thanks in advance.
