I would say that labor rates are too high if I didn't do a lot of the work on my car myself. I think that if you have never worked on cars before at all then you will see the price as high because you don't understand how hard the work is and how expensive tools are. I think it's fair but I will avoid paying for it at all cost if I can do the work myself.
there is so many cars to fix no need to be dishonest…personally when i fix a car i hope i never see it again for a long time…But thanks to crappy parts maid in schmuck village located some fare away land near i don't give a fungus ! they will all be back soon…ever smell a parts box ? WTF's that smell ? maybe i dont want to know
Well, call the GM deal one day to see how much to replace the fuel pump on my car. Quite 800 or diy 102. But I understand why if it’s easy then everyone would just do it them self’s. That’s why I learn. That’s what killed computer repair! Anyone can do it.
Id rather pay an auto shop labor rates than a doctors labor rate.
we get charged extra to remove tires and oils/water
We have a 66 years old tech in the shop, and he was talking about how back in the days the technician used to take 45% of what the customer pays and none of them liked it and I don’t blame them considering that the shops used to charge 20 dollars an hour, they were talking if they never changed the system to flat rate we could be making 50 dollars for each working hours. I started working in the wrong time should’ve became a tech 40 years ago before I was born when cars were cars and they used to actually pay 45% of what the hour is.
Misc shop fees are for waste disposal
absolutely I think 120 an hour (stealershits much more) is fair NOT.
limitation oh you must mean cancer that destroyed the bones in your spine or your paralyzed, other than that there's no reason to be dry fucked by 99 percent of these theives, you must understand you and Mr.O., and few others are the exception not by a mile the norm, when it costs 1200 dollars to change a waterpump which was not the real problem, there is a very real need to cap these thrives on what they can charge, I changed a water pump for $25 dollars you have expenses yes but that does not mean you rape every one with a body cavity.
My problem isn't that your labor rate is too high, so you're trying to Bill me 2 hours change the oil and replace the brake pads
The technician is the loser customers think techs are making tons of money and/or are crooks when it's the greedy shop owners making the money overcharging customers for parts and underpaying the techs. The shop owners are making more off of parts than labor it works out better for them that's less they have to pay the tech. By 2022 the min. wage in California is supposed to be 15.00 per hour and what do you think auto techs will be making then? The same shitty pay they're making now! I bet most customers that go to a repair shop make more money doing some simple ass job than the tech makes busting his ass on their vehicle using his expensive tools listening to the shop owner asking if its done yet because the customer is calling every ten minutes . That's the best thing a customer can do is totally rush the tech they love that shit , that's when they do there best work and there is a lot less chance of a mistake being made plus the vehicle is checked out much better! WTF is with shop owners is it that hard to tell the customer that you will call when the vehicle is done ? Hell no it's better to go out and bother the tech working on some piece of shit telling him the customer is on the phone like the tech really gives a #@%* ! Oh the customer is in a big hurry , no problem i'm paid so much money and treated so well i'll work through lunch to finish it. Yeah right #@%* that and the greedy ass shop owner!
