I ride and review the new 2023 Indian Sport Chief, is it just another cruiser motorcycle or does the new Sport Chief have something different and special to offer. Based on the standard Chief and Chief Dark Horse, the Sport Chief is made more for a sporty ride. With a small fairing up front and and sportier components, it is a cruiser with intentions.
A huge V-Twin engine, this is a motorcycle with plenty of attitude. Lets find out how it rides and can it perhaps compete with Harley Davidson’s Low Rider S.

How does it compare with the Harley 117 Low Rider S, which seems to be what it's competing against.

Too bad you couldn't twist the throttle – not going to see that much torque again for a while.

For me they never seem to get the rative proportions right unlike HD.

Interesting looking bike! I divorced Polaris several years ago when they dumped the Victory line. At any rate I enjoyed your review and wondered if "Speedy" is still your main ride?

Agreed, engine is the best part. I'd swap bars to more pulled back and lower, more forward, foot pegs to make it more ride-able. Bike looks great, Another great review. Cheers 🍺

I like this bike quite a lot! I'd have to move the bars closer but that's the only change I'd make. It's a lot of money but so is the Moto Guzi v100 Mandello which is another completely different style of bike I'm considering. I've owned Harley's in the past and also a Honda Shadow and my biggest concern is the super low seat hight. I'm riding a Triumph Tiger 850 now and the commanding view of the road ahead you'll never get from a cruiser. I live in the States in Tennessee and the roads here are twisty with lots of blind curves and elevation changes. Riding a cruiser here is a bit like driving an MGB! You have to guess what's over the next rise.

These American cruisers are laughably overpriced. Cool, but I’ll just get a V4 Ducati or R1 long before one of these grossly underpowered weights on two wheels. Interesting how the Japanese brands can produce a far superior cruiser for a hell of a lot less…

That’s one nice ride there. That engine might just be the best looking V-twin ever produced!

    Great review!

The seat would be too low for me. Nice-looking bike, though. Expensive. 1890cc air-cooled engine. It's going to fly. I used to love the engine on my MT-01 – air-cooled, 1670cc. There is no substitute for cubes. I don't like touch screens. What's wrong with a switch? Nick J
