I just got my first gas turbo. Picked up a 2019 Ford Escape. 1.5 turbo. Owners manual calls for semi synthetic. I just did my first oil change with it. I went with full synthetic. I don't go past 5000 miles between oil changes
I can’t get a new Honda crv without one…. It’s lame
A person should have the option to have a engine without one
I just snapped the shaft right at the compressor wheel because I was rebuilding it and apparently it’s reverse threaded. It’s in my miata and it was just an ebay turbo but still it sucks.
Why not 3000 miles
Scotty has turbo charged arms
another tip, if you are driving on the highway, when You are going to stop, let Your engine idle for a few minutes, this cools the turbo down some. so the oil don't get cooked in that hot turbo and ruin it.
Also depends on how you drive it… I have 2014 5.0 GT Track Pack… I change the oil on it once a year @7k miles…. oil still pretty clean. Now if ya Track the car often or drag race or drive high rpms, then yes change it more often. It's common sense.
hell change it every 3 thousand.
who knows what kind of oil filter they put in there.
Its more to do with rpm, smaller engines tend to rev higher so that produces more wear, my 2.2L turbo diesel Mazda is over
200k milies still going strong. Cruising at 1700-1900rpm just isnt as much wear as a similar gas engine. Yes regular oil changes at 3-4k miles helps a lot
